Kathmandu, Aug 19: Senior singer Premadhwaj Pradhan and senior lyricist Yadav Kharel have been honoured with the Rastrakabi Madhav Ghimire song award.
Along with the award, they also received a cash prize of Rs 21,000. The award was presented at the National Convention of International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) Nepal Chapter in the capital today.
On the occasion, Senior artist Madandas Shrestha was honored with the INLS special award, while lyricist Unnatisheela Bohara, former president of INLS Radheshyam Lekali, founding president Homanath Subedi, former president Geeta Khatri, outgoing president Prakash Paudel Maila were felicitated.
Speaking on the occasion, senior litterateur Prof Dr Basudev Tripathi said that the role of INLS has been important in the promotion and expansion of Nepali literature.
President of INLS, Sandhya Pahadi, said that the chapter has been playing a role to promote Nepali art and culture where are Nepalis around the world.
