President appoint Dahal as ambassador for Australia



            Kathmandu, Oct 15 : President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Mahesh Raj Dahal as Nepal’s ambassador to Australia.

The appointment was made today in accordance with the Article 282 of the constitution.

Earlier, the Council of Ministers recommended him for the appointment on the post.

Ambassadors take oath

Newly appointed ambassadors of Nepal to Australia and Spain took oath of office and secrecy in presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari here today. The oath taking ceremony was held at a special function at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas.

Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Chief of the Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa, among others were present on the occasion.

Earlier, President Bhandari had, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers and in accordance with Article 282 of the Constitution, appointed Dawa Futi Sherpa as the Ambassador to Spain and Dahal as the Ambassador to Australia.
