Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called to submit claims to the post of Prime Minister. She has called for the formation of the new government in accordance with Article 76 (2) of the Constitution.
According to Article 76(1), after no party has reached the majority, President Bhandari has invited the members who can get a majority in the House of Representatives according to clause-2 to submit their claim to the Prime Minister. For that, a deadline has been given until December 25, 2022 at 5 pm.
Article 76 of the Constitution states that in the event that no party has a clear majority in the House of Representatives, the President shall appoint a member of the House of Representatives who can obtain a majority with the support of two or more parties represented in the House of Representatives.
