KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has left for Bangladesh today for a state visit.

President Bhandari was seen off by Vice President Nanda Kishore Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and other dignitaries at the Tribhuvan International Airport. She is on a two-day visit to Bangladesh at the invitation of President of Bangladesh Mohammad Abdul Hamid.

President Bhandari will be taking part of birth centenary celebrations and golden jubilee celebrations of Bangladesh’s Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She is scheduled to address Nepal-Bangladesh relations and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.

She will have a separate bilateral meeting with his counterpart Hamid. On Tuesday, President Bhandari is scheduled to visit the Nepali Embassy in Bangladesh and meet with Nepalis living in Bangladesh.
