Kathmandu, Feb 1: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has decided not to take the government housing facility after her retirement.
After retirement, President Bhandari is planning to move to her own private residence in Mathillo Bhangal, Budhanilkanth Municipality Ward No. 2, Chapli.
Tika Dhakal, the President’s communication expert, told newspolar.com that a letter was sent to Prime Minister’s Office because the government had to formally inform about the end of the term of office of the President and to coordinate security.
As the President is preparing to move to her own private residence after retirement, nothing formal or informal has been offered to her by the government.
She bought the house in Mathillo Bhangal, Budhanilkanth Municipality, Ward No. 2, Chapli, 20 years ago.
A rumor was spread in the Nepali media and social sites that the government was planning to construct new house to the President. The President’s term of office will be expiring within two months.
