President extends best wishes to Nepali team participating in Paris Olympics



Kathmandu, July 19: President Ramchandra Paudel saw off the Nepali athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, extending best wishes for their success, amidst a programme organized at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas, today.

On the occasion, the Head of the State described sports as the most appropriate means for making the nation known in the international arena and urged the Nepali sportspersons to compete in the Olympic Games with high morale.

He expressed the confidence that the athletes taking part in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games will raise high the country’s prestige, suggesting them to compete in the Games with dedication and determination.

Also on the occasion, President Paudel handed the National Flag to National Sports Council member-secretary Tanka Lal Ghising who is also Nepal’s the Chef de Mission in the Paris Olympics.

Minister for Youth and Sports Teju Lal Chaudhary offered best wishes to the Nepali athletes, urging them to give their best with highest level of self-confidence.

Along with Minister Chaudhary, Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, and sportspersons and instructors participating in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris were among those present in the farewell programme.
