Kathmandu, Feb 3: On the occasion of Basanta Panchami, President Ram Chandra Paudel attended the Basanta Shrawan ceremony at Nasal Chowk, Hanuman Dhoka Durbar, on Monday morning.
During the special ceremony at Hanuman Dhoka, the chief priest of Hanuman Dhoka Office performed an Abhishek (ritual purification) and offered tika, garland, and prasad to the President.
The tradition of Basanta Shrawan has been observed since ancient times, where the Head of State, Head of Government, and other distinguished officials of the Nepalese government participate in the event. On this occasion, a unit of the Nepal Army presented a guard of honor to the President.
President Paudel also offered prayers to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom and learning, during the ceremony.
During the ceremony, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, ministers and other high ranking officials were present. #basant #saraswoti
