Kathmandu, Sept 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ who arrived here today for an official visit to China held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at Hongzhou City of China on Saturday.
Prime Minister Dahal has arrived in the city from New York of the United States on Saturday itself. The Asian Games is taking place in Hongzhou.
Minister for Sports and General Administration of the Chinese government and Chinese Olympic Committee Chair Gao Zhidan received Prime Minister Dahal. Chinese President Xi has hosted a welcome banquet in honour of Prime Minister Dahal and his Nepali delegation.
A delegation level discussion was also held between Nepali and Chinese teams in the city.
PM Dahal who will stay in China for a week is scheduled to arrive in Beijing from Hongzhou and have a bilateral meeting with the Chinese Prime Minister.
After this program, Prime Minister Dahal will travel to Beijing, the capital city of China. He is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang on September 25 in Beijing. After the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal will visit China’s Chongqing Metropolitan City to observe China’s development in the agricultural and industrial sectors.
PM Dahal will also take part in the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games today evening. President Xi have been holding bilateral meetings with world leaders in Hangzhou.
