Prime Minister Dahal has the right to make decision on President: Maoist Centre

Kathmandu, Feb 20: The ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to search for grounds for forging national consensus on upcoming presidential elections.

A meeting of the party’s office-bearers held at the party central office in Paris Danda on Monday took such decision.

“Today’s meeting was focused on presidential election. A decision has been made to seek national consensus on upcoming presidential election,” Maoist Centre’s spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara told the media.

Spokesperson Mahara also said that the Maoist Centre’s main goal is to complete the peace process by safeguarding the republic and constitution and added that maximum efforts would be taken for forging national consensus on presidential election.

According to Mahara, the CPN (Maoist Centre) meeting has entrusted party chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ with the responsibility to take a final decision on party’s step regarding the presidential election.

Mahara stated that his party’s interest was to make the president on national consensus and that could be served from the (alliance) with the Nepali Congress and other parties as well.
