Kathmandu, Feb 19: The government has appointed Prof Dr Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki as the Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University.
Prime Minister and Chancellor Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has appointed Budhathoki as Vice Chancellor.
The Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ had formed a recommendation committee under the chairmanship of Education, Science and Technology Minister Ashok Kumar Rai, Education Secretary Suresh Adhikari and Dr. Chandrakala Ghimire, Head of the Department of Buddhist Studies of the University.
The committee shortlisted 14 of the 43 candidates who applied and selected three names after completing the interviews. Along with Dr Budhathoki, it was recommended to appoint one person from Prof. Dr Kesharjung Baral and Prof. Dr Tanknath Dhamala. Budhathoki is currently working as a dean in the Faculty of Education.
The post was vacant after the term of Dr Dharmakant Baskota, Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University ended on Kartik 18, 2080 BS. #Nepal
