Public institutions in need of ensuring effective service delivery

CIAA Head Office

Kathmandu, Nov 24: The experts on public administration have said service delivery could not be effective until public institutions set action plan along with institutional reforms. At an interaction involving heads of public institutions organised by the Commission for Investigations of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Nepal, the participants stressed the need for changing the working style for the effective service delivery.

The old working style has affected the effective service delivery, they argued. The CIAA Chief Commissioner Prem Kumar Rai stressed that the set goals could not be achieved without formulating action plan. The Commission has launched investigations after receiving complaints about institutions working without an action plan and going through procedural errors, he said.

Office’s confidence will decrease after complaints. Stress takes place, but do not afraid, he said. The CIAA concludes the matter after general enquires on the issues going through the rules, Rai informed.

On the occasion, Commissioners Kishor Silwal, Hari Paudel, Sumitra Shrestha and Jaya Bahadur Chand said the action plan for the restructuring and reforms of public institutions was imperative.

The CIAA Secretary Rameshwor Dangal, Finance Secretary Krishna Hari Puskar and other speakers also underscored the need for implementing the action plan for the improvement of public institutions. The interaction was participated by chiefs and representatives of 44 public institutions of the country.
