Kathmandu, March 9: Nepali Congress senior leader Ramchandra Poudel has been elected as the country’s highest post. According to sources, he managed to garner 33,802 votes.
He defeated CPN-UML candidate Subash Chandra Nemwang who received nearly 15,518 votes.
However, the Election Commission will announce the official result soon.
Poudel was a common candidate from nine parties, including Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Centre, CPN (Unified Socialist), Nagarik Unmukti Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, among others.
