Kathmandu, March 11: Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav of the Janata Samajbadi Party has filed candidacy for vice-presidential election from the ruling alliance.
Leaders of ruling alliance including Yadav reached the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwor, and filed the nomination of Yadav for the post.
Leaders—Ashok Rai, Pradeep Yadav, Shakti Basnet, Kisan Shrestha and Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi proposed Yadav for the post while Rekha Yadav, Ambika Kafle, Prakash Jwala, Dr Khimlal Devkota and Bhanu Bhakta Joshi seconded the proposal.
CPN (UML) Vice-Chair Astha Laxmi Shakya has filed nomination for vice-presidential election.
Shakya filed her nomination at the office of the Election Officer established at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwor, today.
UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, leaders—Subas Chandra Nembang, Chhabilal Bishwokarma, Raghubir Mahaseth and Gokarna Bista proposed Shakya for the post while Mahesh Bartaula, Tulasa Dahal, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Bhagawati Neupane and Yashoda Rijal seconded the proposal.
The election to the post of Vice-President is taking place on March 17.
Pramila Yadav registers nomination for vice-presidential election
Pramila Yadav of the Janata Samajbadi Party has filed nomination for vice-presidential election from the ruling alliance. Pramila Yadav reached the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwor, and filed her candidacy.
Lawmakers—Ranju Jha, Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav, Nawal Kishor Shah, Deepak Karki and Raj Kishor Yadav proposed Pramila’s name for the post while Anita Devkota, Bimala Subedi, Sita Gurung, Jayanti Rai and Manis Kumar Suman seconded it.
Jha files nominations for vice-presidential election
Mamata Jha of the Janamat Party has filed nomination for vice-presidential election representing her party.
Reaching the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor in Kathmandu today, Jha filed her candidacy in presence of the top leaders of her party. The election to the post of Vice-President is taking place on March 17.
Jha is proposed by Abdul Khan, Anita Devi, Gangaram Chaudhary, Abiram Sharma and Rupa Kumari Yadav while Goma Labh Sapkota, Binita Kumari Singh, Basanta Kumar Kushbaha, Ram Prakash Chaudhary and Rani Kumari Tiwari seconded it.
Jha asserted that her candidacy was to keep the essence of the constitution alive. Responding to the query of journalists, she replied that there was no any case or charge against her.
Talking to journalists briefly after registering of Jha’s nomination, party Chairperson CK Raut expressed his confidence that the ruling coalition would determine on the common candidate of the current coalition to contest in the upcoming election.
According to him, there would be a friendly competition among the coalition partners’ candidates if the coalition fails to reach a consensus on the common candidate.
