DHUNCHE: Rasuwa District Hospital has said it was facing problems to diagnose serious health problems for lack of digital x-ray. Manual x-ray does not help ascertain the problem deep inside the body.
It has directly impacted on the treatment of ailment in chest and stomach. Even the manual x-ray machine is operated by office assistant for lack of technical employee needed for it at the hospital.
Medical officer at the hospital, Dr Resham Pokharel, said although the hospital had required skill for operating digital x-ray, the unavailability of the machine has hampered the treatment of people with broken limb. The manual x-ray is not so clear. Similarly, there are no physical and human resources for the CS surgery to conduct delivery, Pokharel added.
Although there are five doctors for health services, lack of medical equipment and resources has marred the service. Even the video x-ray is not functioning well.
Worryingly, the District Hospital has gone short of even the medicines citizens are entitled for free of cost.
Some 20 to 25 persons visit the hospital in a day. The hospital is providing service from a pre-fabricated structure set up after the devastating Gorkha Earthquake. Total quotas of employees in the hospital are 10.
Medical Superintendent Bhuwan KC informed that the province government was urged to provide necessary medicines and medical equipment for the smooth health services.
