Recording statements over, further hearing from Sunday

Kathmandu, June 2: The District Court Kathmandu has completed recording statements of 18 people arrested in connection with fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

In the bench of district court justice Prem Prasad Neupane, recording of statements of former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, Bhutanese human rights leader Teknath Rijal and Haribhakta Maharjan was undertaken today.

The statements of 15 arrestees were recorded as of June 1. Further hearing is beginning on Sunday.

Chief of District Attorney Office Achyut Mani Neupane said recording statements of all defendants was completed today. As informed, 12 defendants of the scam are still at large.
