Kathmandu, April 27: Newly elected Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Vishmaraj Angdembey has said that the party will shoulder the responsibility of the main opposition party effectively.
Speaking to media persons after being elected unopposed as the leader of the NC parliamentary party, he said that the NC will play a strong role in ensuring that those in power do the right thing. “We will support the good works of the government and strongly oppose the bad one,” he said.
NC Parliamentary party leader Angdembey,61, has been active in Nepali Congress politics for about five decades. He is a leader of the frontline of the anti-panchayat movement, the first and second people’s movements.
He joined politics through the Nepal Students’ Union while studying at Phidim Secondary School in Panchthar in 2036 BS. Angdembey, who was born in the former Umlabung area of Panchthar, entered politics with the inspiration of his grandfather, former minister Deuman Angdembe.
Angdembey was Constituent Assembly member and a member of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee. After the Constituent Assembly was transformed into a legislature, Angdembey served as the chair of the parliament’s industry, commerce, supplies and consumer protection committee.
Working as the coordinator of the indigenous and nationalities department of the Nepali Congress, he raised the issue of inclusion within the. Similarly, Angdembey has been a central member three times and a joint general secretary once. #nepal #rss
