Kathmandu, Sept 18: The government spending in the first two months of the current fiscal year (FY) remained 7.49 per cent of the total allocation.
However, the capital expenditure of the government is just 2.7 per cent in the months of Sawan and Bhadra of the total Rs 302.07 billion. Likewise, the expenditure for financial management amounted to Rs 35.51 billion in the first two months which is 11.49 per cent of the annual target.
The government has allocated Rs 307.45 billion for the financial management expenditure. Similarly, the revenue collection during the period is 10.47 per cent of the total annual target. Of the target of Rs 1472 billion in the current fiscal year, the revenue collection stood at Rs 154.23 billion during the period.
According to the Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO), the total expenditure of the government stood at Rs 131.14 billion during the second month of the current FY. Compared to the government spending, the revenue collection of the government higher by almost Rs 23 billion. During the first two months, a total of Rs 127.95 billion in tax revenue was collected while Rs 13.12 billion in non-tax revenue was received.
