Kathmandu, June 4: Workers give the final touches to the third section of the 700-metre Ring Road extension from Narayan Gopal Chowk to Chappal Karkhana, a project being completed by the Government of Nepal with its own investment.
A further 1,200-metre expansion from Chappal Karkhana to Dhobikhola (Gopikrishna Bridge) is awaiting budget approval.
Nepal and China signed an agreement in 2018 for the second phase of the 8.2-kilometre Kalanki–Basundhara Ring Road Expansion Project. However, fieldwork on the project has yet to begin. The Chinese side have been delaying the project as first phase of extension from Koteshwor to Kalanki already completed.
