Sindhuli, July 23: A unique Root Art Museum established by lawyer and artist Bishwambhar Lamichhane at his residence in Kamalamai Municipality-4, Sindhuli, is emerging as a popular destination.
For nearly 30 years, Lamichhane has been collecting and transforming tree roots found along rivers and riverbanks into artistic sculptures. The museum currently houses around 300 artworks, many of which convey messages of patriotism, motherhood, love for nature, and social harmony, according to Lamichhane.
He said his goal is to preserve the artworks rather than sell them, and efforts are underway to establish a public museum to showcase the collection.
According to Krishna Prasad Baral, Vice President of the Root Art Centre Nepal, construction of a dedicated building for the Root Art Centre is currently underway with an investment of Rs. 4.999 million provided by the provincial government. #nepal
