Kathmandu, April 18: The Belgian Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Maldegum Belgium have promised to support Nepal Disabled Association Orthopedic Hospital in Jorpati, Kathmandu.
A team of Rotarians visited the hospital on Wednesday, and discussed about the modalities of support, including technical and financial support.
The former president of the Rotary Club of Maldegum Belgium, Johan, mentioned that the Rotarians have an emotional connection with this hospital and promised to help.
In the program, Dr. Kailash Bhandari, the medical director of the hospital, informed about the services provided by the hospital along with the programs conducted with the help of supporting organizations.
He informed that this hospital, which was established in 1998 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the health care of orphans, helpless, low-class and disabled citizens, has been providing services for orthopedic patients.
Former medical director Dr. Anil Bahadur Shrestha and member of the board of directors Dr. Pramod Bahadur Shrestha informed about the history of the establishment of the hospital, the current situation and future plans.
The NOH has been providing different services like Out-Patient Service, In-Patient service, surgery, physiotherapy, pathology, pharmacy, X-Ray, Ultrasound/ECHO, Dexa Scan (Bone Mineral Densitometry), social service, emergency, free surgical camps across Nepal.
