RSP leads PR vote count with nearly 48 percent

Kathmandu, March 10: The latest calculations under Nepal’s Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system show the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) maintaining a strong lead in the vote count.

According to the Election Commission latest report, RSP has secured 5,071,274 votes, accounting for 47.90 percent of the total votes counted so far. The Election Commission has so far counted 10,586,454 votes.

The Nepali Congress is in second place with 1,722,124 votes (16.27 percent), followed by the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) (CPN-UML) with 1,432,600 votes (13.53 percent).

Similarly, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has received 785,460 votes, representing 7.42 percent of the total.

Among other parties, the Shram Sanskriti Party has obtained 370,491 votes (3.50 percent), while the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has secured 327,358 votes (3.09 percent).

Vote counting under the PR system is still ongoing, and Election Commission will be announcing the final result by Wednesday morning. #nepal #election
