Kathmandu : Prabhu Shah, who left the CPN-UML ticket and ran as an independent candidate, is going to be supported by the five-party ruling coalition.
According to the Deputy General Secretary of the Maoist Center, Barsha Man Pun, it has been decided to support Prabhu Shah from Rautahat-3.
Earlier, the ruling coalition has allocated the Rautahat-3 for Maoist Center. Accordingly, the Maoist Center fielded Ravindra Patel as their official candidate.
Now, the Maoist has withdrawan the candidacy of Patel politically.
According to the leaders, the Maoist Center had also asked Prabhu Shah to contest the election on the election symbol of the Maoist Center. In response, Shah said that he will contest the elections as an independent. However, Shah asked the Maoist leadership to help by considering the future as well.
The ruling coalition is silent about those who have submitted independent candidatures at the request of Prabhu Shah. Sah gave up the ticket of UML and ran as an independent candidate. Along with Saha, other leaders in Madhesh province, including Rautahat, have also given their candidature as independent candidates.
Shah is a leader from Maoist background. After the disintegration of the CPN which was made up of the CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist Center, Shah openly supported UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. Four other leaders of the Maoist had to lose their parliamentary positions while remaining in the UML for the continuation of the CPN.
He said that even though they supported KP Oli in crisis, they did not behave accordingly, he said that Sah gave up the UML ticket and ran as an independent candidate.
