Ruling party leaders discuss on National Assembly elections



Kathmandu, Jan 2: The senior leaders of Nepali Congress and CPN (Unified Maoist Centre) have begun discussion for the upcoming National Assembly member elections.

According to Chief Whip of Nepali Congress, Ramesh Lekhak, a discussion was held between the Prime Minister and Chairman of Unified Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and other top leaders at the Prime Minister’s Residence Baluwatar on Tuesday.

He said that in the first phase, the two parties of the alliance discussed current issues including the election of members of the National Assembly, and then they will discuss with other parties of the alliance as well.

Leaders including Congress Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, Senior Vice Chairman of CPN Maoist Centre Narayan Kaji Shrestha participated in the meeting.

The election of National Assembly will be held on Magh 11, 2080 BS.
