Kathmandu : The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has suspended cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane from the Nepali national cricket team, who was accused of rape.
After issuing an arrest warrant against the captain of the Nepali national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane, who was accused of raping a minor, the CAN meeting today evening suspended him.
He was suspended after District Court Kathmandu issued an arrest warrant against Lamichhane accused of rape on Thursday.
The statement issued by CAN on Thursday said, “Sandeep Lamichhane has been suspended from the national cricket team as per the decision of the executive committee of the Nepal Cricket Association. He has been relieved from the captain of the Nepal national cricket team.”
Currently, Lamichhane is playing at the Carrebean Premier League cricket.
