
Kathmandu, Mar 7: Three people lost their lives in a road accident early this morning in Sankhu, Kathmandu.
At approximately 3:40 AM, a tipper (registration number Ba 2 K 6580) lost control and crashed into a corrugated metal shelter in Sankhu-Salambutar along the Sankhu-Brahmakhel road section in Shankharapur Municipality-6. The shelter was constructed by the Conflict Victims and Disabled Society, and 61 people were residing in it.
According to Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara, the tipper struck a room where 10 individuals were sleeping. Among them, 21-year-old Akash, 21-year-old Suman, and 45-year-old Harijan, whose full addresses are still unknown, sustained injuries. They were rushed to Nepal Medical College in Attarkhel for treatment but succumbed to their injuries.
The tipper driver, 25-year-old Sagar Majhi from Melamchi, Sindhupalchok, has been taken into custody by the Bouddha Police Circle.
