SC directs not to implement govt. decision to sack NEA Board members

Kathmandu, Aug 8: The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the government not to implement its decision to relieve Bhakta Bahadur Pun and Kapil Acharya of their positions as the Board of Directors of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

SC Justice Sunil Kumar Pokharel issued an interim order on Thursday in the name of the government to not implement its decision to remove Pun and Acharya from their positions.

Likewise, the SC has sought the reasons from the government about their removal from the posts.

Taking a minister-level decision, Minister for Energy, Water Resource and Irrigation Dipak Khadka on August 2 removed Pun and Acharya from their jobs.

After their removal from the posts, Devendra Karki and Mahendra Bahadur Gurung were appointed.
