KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Supreme Court’s verdict on House of Representatives dissolution will be acceptable whatever the verdict comes.

Addressing a protest rally organized by the Nepali Congress, Bhaktapur on Monday, former Prime Minister Deuba said NC would accept the verdict no matter what the outcome is.

“Government’s move is wrong. The case is subjudice in the Supreme Court. As since the judiciary is an independent body, it’s verdict will be acceptable to the NC irrespective of the result,” he added.

NC won’t threaten the judiciary for a certain verdict and added that NC abides by the court’s verdict. Saying that the judiciary was the last resort for seeking justice, Deuba stated that his party was waiting for the SC’s verdict.

Stating that NC was the party that agreed to the court’s judgment even in the Panchayat era, Deuba announced that NC would contest the upcoming polls without forging alliance with other political parties.

“We can confirm to our strengths while contesting polls without making alliance. It will be easier for people to express their mandate as well,” the NC chief said.

NC leaders Rama Poudel, Durlav Thapa, Ganeshman Chakradhar, Jiban Khatri and others expressed their opinions at the protest rally pledging to continue the protest against the government move to dissolve the HoR.
