KATHMANDU: The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) is scheduled to be conducted from May 27 to June 7.

The cabinet meeting held on February 8 this year had decided to authorise National Examinations Board to take the SEE examination in support of the state government.

Due to the epidemic of COVID-19, the Board published results after determining the grade based on the internal evaluation done by the schools last year.

After the country entered into federalism, the state governments were given the responsibility of managing, conducting, monitoring and purchasing answer sheets for the SEE examination.

The constitution has given the right to secondary education to the local government and in the education policy, the class 10 examination has been placed under the state jurisdiction. But, lack of law has compelled the central government to take the SEE exam from the center.

Every year, nearly 8-10 lakh student appear in the SEE exam.
