Senior journalist Sushil Sharma no more

KATHMANDU: Senior journalist Sushil Sharma passed away at Chabahil-based Om Hospital on Friday. He was 63.

According to the family sources, Sharma was undergoing treatment at the same hospital for the past three days. He had undergone fistula surgery last year.

Sharma had engaged his journalism career in The Rising Nepal, The Kathmandu Post, Spotlight and BBC Nepali service. He was also associated to the Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ).

Sharma’s counterpart journalist Tirtha Koirala reminisced the ideals of late Sharma who believed that all individuals should be honest and hardworking, not merely the journalists. According to Koirala, Sharma was congenial and took a firm stance on what he spoke and wrote about.

Final rites of late Sharma is being performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat in Kathmandu. He is survived by his spouse and a son.
