KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has suspended non-essential services from Monday.
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu District, Kali Prasad Parajuli, said that non-essential services have been postponed from April 26 to May 3.
He said that the service has been postponed considering the risk of spreading the coronavirus infection as the employees working in the office have corona infection and the employees in contact with the infected also need to be tested. He also urged the people to adopt alternative methods of service delivery in other crowded offices.
The suspended services include citizenship and juvenile identity card, passport distribution and recommendation, arms registration renewal, organization registration and renewal and newspaper registration.
However, the services would remain available regarding the petitions and issues related to peace and security and other urgent recommendations.
CDO Parajuli said that a meeting of the District Covid Crisis Management Center was held on Sunday to reduce the congestion, run an awareness campaign and request all to reduce the congestion by making alternative arrangements for the service flow of the office.
He also said that the police has been instructed to fine the person who walks without wearing a mask.
The administration has also requested the service seekers to enter the office wearing masks in full compliance with the public health norms.
