Session of both Houses of Parliament ends, CPN UML cast doubts

KATHMANDU: On the recommendation of the government, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has ended the session of both the houses of the federal parliament.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota read out a letter sent by the President’s Office in the House of Representatives on Monday stating that the current session of both the Houses of Parliament has come to an end.

He said that the current session of both the houses of the federal parliament will be ended at 12 mid-night on August 16.

The parliament was without business for a days. A section of civil society and political party leaders were criticizing the government’s role on handling the parliamentary session.

Leaders of main opposition CPN UML party, while speaking at the parliament today, have blamed government for untimely ending of the parliament session and preparing to come up with ordinance for splitting the party.
