Seti hydel project begins commercial power generation



Pokhara, Dec 6: The Seti Hydropower Project, located in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality in Kaski district, has begun commercial power generation. With a capacity of 25 megawatts, the project started commercial power generation after completing tests on the power plant, interconnection and commissioning.

The Company’s Chairman, Jag Bahadur Pokharel, informed that the power generated by the project has been connected to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) system.

The power generated by the project is being supplied to the NEA through its substation in Lahachowk village of the rural municipality.

It is reported that the total cost of the run of the river project has exceeded Rs 5 billion. Water is being supplied to the powerhouse in the Chintebagar area through a 6,400-metre-long underground pipeline from the Bharabhari site of the Seti River in Sardhikhola.
