Kathmandu: The Nepal Insurance Authority has selected the proposals of seven companies to operate micro insurance business.
According to the information released by the authority on Sunday, three companies have been selected for small life insurance business and four companies for small non-life insurance business.
The Authority issued a 35-day notice recently and requested proposals from companies interested in micro insurance business. Seven companies have been selected from the evaluation of the authority among the proposals that came to be registered within the deadline of the call for proposals.
Among the companies whose proposals have been selected for micro life insurance business are Guardian Microlife Insurance Limited with its head office at Biratnagar-7 in Morang, Crest Microlife Insurance Limited with its head office at Birendranagar in Surkhet and Liberty Micro Life Insurance with its head office at Pokhara in Kaski.
For small non-life insurance business, Trust Micro Insurance Limited with its head office at Butwal-2 in Rupandehi, Nepal Micro Insurance Company Limited with its head office at Bharatpur-1 in Chitwan, Star Microfinance Insurance Company Limited with its head office at Janakpurdham in Dhanusha and Protective Micro Insurance Limited of Dhangadhi-3 in Kailali.
