Shalikram Jamkattel wins vote of confidence in Bagmati

Hetauda, March 24: In Bagmati Province, Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel has garnered the vote of confidence for the second time today.

Jamkattel had to take a vote of confidence again after Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) withdrew support from the government. Jamkattel was appointed Chief Minister with the support of CPN-UML, Maoist Centre, RPP, CPN (Unified Socialist) Party and Our Nepali Party.

In today’s voting, Jamkattel received votes from Nepali Congress, CPN (Unified Socialist), Our Nepali Party and CPN (Maoist Centre).

Out of 91 of the total 110 provincial assembly members, 67 MPs who attended the meeting gave a vote of confidence and 17 voted against. Seven MPs didn’t participate in the voting.

Earlier today, four ministers from CPN UML had resigned from the Jamkattel’s cabinet.
