Humla, Jan 24: Snowfall has been recorded in western mountain region including Humla, Jumla, Bajura, Kalikot, affecting daily life.
This is the first snowfall of the year, following rainfall after a long dry spell, as there had been no rain since last August.
Farmers, who had been worried due to the prolonged absence of snow, have expressed relief after snowfall finally began.
While rainfall is continuing in the lower regions of the Humla district, snowfall is currently taking place in the upper parts of Humla, including Simkot and Namkha. Typically, snowfall in the upper areas follows heavy rainfall in the lower regions.
The snowfall has made daily life difficult. The road section passing through Namkha Rural Municipality towards Hilsa has been completely blocked due to heavy snow.

Likewise, snowfall accompanied by winter rain has been occurring in the hilly districts of Sudurpaschim Province since Friday evening.
According to Police Inspector Suraj Singh, Baitadi, snowfall has been reported in the high-altitude areas including Khodpe, Shreebhawar, Dholyamod, Musyachaur, Satbanjh, and Dehimadaun.
Despite the rainfall and snowfall, no disruptions have been reported on the highways, police said. Snowfall has also been recorded in Byas and Apihimal areas of Darchula. In Dadeldhura, snowfall has occurred in the district headquarters as well as Hagulṭe, Sahukhark, and Bhatkanda, police sources confirmed.
Farmers in the region have expressed happiness as this marks the first winter rainfall and snowfall of the year. Due to the absence of rain over the past four months, winter crops including wheat had begun to dry up.
