Kathmandu: The solar eclipse that took place today ended at 5:26 p.m, according to Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee.
It is said that the eclipse was seen more clearly from the western part of Nepal than from the capital.
Prof. Dr. Ramchandra Gautam, a theologian, said that the classical rules for observing such eclipses are different because today the sun sets at the same time as the eclipse.
As per the rule people should eat only after sunrise on Wednesday morning, except for children, the elderly and the sick.
However, Suresh Bhattarai, president of Nepal Astronomical Society, said that modern science does not prohibit eating during the eclipse.
