Space still vacant in NCP if leaders join party realizing mistakes: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) KP Sharma Oli has said that there were seats in his party if leaders join the nation building campaign by quitting their personal greed.

Addressing a gathering organized by the All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) here Sunday, Chairman Oli urged another chair, senior leaders and other leaders to join the nation building campaign.

PM Oli argued that the leaders from Prachanda-Nepal faction never cooperated with him despite his good performance in the government and party.

He recalled that he faced India’s trade blockade and worked for returning Nepal’s encroached lands. PM Oli also said that he initiated to open a new trade route with China as well.

On another note, PM Oli said that some leaders were joining rallies despite hearing objectionable accusations against the President adding that Nepal got the first woman President.

Chairman Oli shared that several meetings were held in different places to unseat him since last April to December. A total of 315 meetings including 280 held in Khumaltar, 35 in Koteshwar and remaining others in different hotels were conducted, he elaborated.

Also speaking at the programme, Minister for Industry Commerce and Supplies Lekhraj Bhatta opined to return then CPN (UML) leaders to his party if Prachanda expects unity of the then Maoists.

Similarly, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali argued that the PM’s resignation was not likely based on the demands of some leaders. He also shared that the government was working for development, prosperity and strengthening nationality. “Nation was graduating to low-middle income country from the least developed country” Gyawali said.

Likewise, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhanubhakta Dhakal claimed that Prachanda-Nepal faction leaders were afraid of election.

ANNFSU chair Ain Mahar said that PM Oli was facing attacks while raising issue of nationality and people’s multi-party democracy.
