BIRATNAGAR, Dec 26: Chief Minister of State 1 Sherdhan Rai has dismissed Finance Minister Indra Bahadur Angbo on Saturday evening.
While the Prachanda-Madhav Nepal faction was preparing to bring a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister, Rai dismissed Angbo.
Chief Minister Rai alleged that Minister Angbo had launched a signature campaign for a no-confidence motion against him. “I learned that Angbo was leading a campaign against me,” he said.
Rai clarified that he had sacked Minister Angbo in accordance with Article 169(2)(b) of the Constitution of Nepal.
Angbo had served as the Minister of Finance and Planning of the state government for 2 years and 10 months.
The soft-spoken Angbo had gained the most popularity among the government ministers by maintaining good economic governance in the state government. He was known as the next possible Chief Minister.
