Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has sought a written response over the issue of scrapping the legal provision of giving impunity to policy-level corruption by restricting the jurisdiction of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

A constitutional bench of acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki, justices—Ishwor Khatiwada, Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, Prakash Man Singh Raut and Sapana Pradhan Malla on Wednesday issued a show-cause notice seeking a written response in the name of the government on the writ petition filed regarding CIAA’s jurisdiction.
