Kathmandu, March 29: The Supreme Court has ordered to revoke the suspension of Tek Bahadur Gurung, Member of the House of Representatives from Nepali Congress. The bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Binod Sharma on Friday ordered the cancellation of the suspension of Gurung, who was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Manang.
The order states, “The notice published by the Federal Parliament Secretariat on the date 2079/9/12 BS stating that the petitioner has been automatically suspended from the date 2079/9/8 and the related decision of the Commission of Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on the date 2079/9/8 and the correspondence based on that Articles 20 (5), 87, 246 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal, Section 9 of the Federal Parliament Secretariat Act, 2064, Rule 248 (3), (4) of the House of Representatives, 2079 were found to be flawed in terms of application and interpretation.”
The notification issued by the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament on Paush 8, 2079 and the related decision of the CIAA dated Paush 8, 2079 and the order to send the correspondence based on the same have been annulled.
Gurung, a member of the House of Representatives, was accused of corruption when he was the Minister of State for Labor and Employment in the government led by the then Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, when he leased the land of the Fun Park in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. #Nepal
