POKHARA, MARCH 20: Bhuvan Nagarkoti won the title of Surya Nepal Western Open, fifth event under Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2025-26, at the par-69 Himalayan Golf Course on Friday.
Bhuvan carded even-par 69 in the third and final day to post the 54-hole total of 3-under 204. He registered one-stroke victory over Sanjay Lama on his way to winning the third straight title of the season and 14th career title. Along with the trophy, Bhuvan received Rs 170,000. Bhuvan had won the Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship in Bardibas and Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open at RNGC.
Sanjay finished second at 2-under 205 after he carded a brilliant 4-under 65 in the final round. He earned Rs 125,000. Amateur golfer Rahul Bishwakarma also fired a 4-under 65 to finish third at 1-under 206. Sukra Bahadur Rai came fourth overall and third among pros with total score of 2-over 209 after he played 4-over 73. He earned Rs 100,000. Jayram Shrestha was fifth among pros at 7-over 214 after he played 6-over 75, earning Rs 82,000. Local pro Bhu Bahadur Gurung came sixth overall at 8-over 215 after he played 3-over 72 in the final round. He earned Rs 72,000.
Pros Dinesh Prajapati and Bhuwan Kumar Rokka shared seventh position at 10-over 217. Dinesh carded 2-under 67, while Bhuwan played 3-over 72 and they earned Rs 65,000 each. Toran Bikram Shahi finished ninth at 12-over 219 after he played 2-over 71. Toran received Rs 51,000. Ramesh Adhikari (76) and Suresh Tamang (75) shared 10th place at 13-over 220 and they earned Rs 44,000 each.
Winner Bhuvan carded even-par 34 on front after a bogey on the sixth and a birdie on the eighth hole. He played even-par 35 on the back nine. He carded birdies on the 10th and 13th holes against bogeys on the 12th and 17th holes.
Sanjay took the turn at 1-under 33 with the help of three birdies on the first, seventh and eighth holes against bogeys on second and sixth holes. After the turn, he carded 3-under 32 and was level at 3-under with Bhuvan at one stage. He carded five birdies on the 10th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th holes against bogeys on the 12th and 18th holes.
Amateur Rahul also carded 33 and 32 on two halves. He carded birdies on the first, fifth, 16th and 17th holes, and sank an eagle on the 13th hole against bogeys on the seventh and 18th hole. Rahul won the amateur section trophy with a 22-stroke victory over Kishan Pariyar. Kishan fired 10-over 79 for 21-over 227 total.
Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd Deputy General Manager Keshav Pradhan and President of Nepal Golf Association Tashi Ghale handed over prizes to the winners. The 54-hole event featured a total of 26 pros and 16 amateurs. The tournament, organized by the Professional Golfers Association Nepal and sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, carried a prize purse of NPR 10,50,000. Cash prizes were awarded to pros finishing within the top 18 positions. #nepal
