Team Nepal enters second round in PUBG Mobile competition

Hangzhou, Sept 28: The Nepali team playing PUBG Mobile event entered the second stage in the PUBG Mobile’s Peace Elite competition in the ongoing 19th Asian Games.

In the first stage of the game played at Hangzhou Sports Centre on Thursday, the Nepali players secured the second position in the group ‘C’ making their entry into the second round. South Korea has topped the score in the group.

Nepal, Mongolia, South Korea and Vietnam are in the group ‘C’.

In the PUBG event, Nepal played in 52 minutes 20.28 seconds while South Korea completed the same in 47 minute 28.46 seconds.

With this win, Nepal made it to the quarterfinals.

The teams playing PUBG have been divided into four groups. Nepal would play on Friday in the second round. From the second round, eight best teams would enter the third round.

Earlier, Hong Kong from group ‘A’, Chinese Taipei from group ‘B’ and Indonesia from group ‘D’ have entered the second round.

Nepal’s Sikka and Navita defeated in table tennis

Nepal’s Sikka Suwal Shrestha and Navita Shrestha have been defeated in their respective table tennis match under the 19th Asian Games, 2022 (2023).

In women’s singles, Nepal’s Sikka lost to Japanese player Miyu Hirano in straight sets 4-0 at Gonsu Canal Sports Center. Japanese player Hirono won the match by 11-7, 11-1, 11-4 and 11-5 points.

Likewise, Navita Shrestha of Nepal lost to Indian player Manika Batra in straight sets 4-0. Navita lost the match by 5-11, 4-11, 3-11 and 2-11 points.

Similarly, in women’s doubles, Sikka and Navita lost to China’s Yidi Wang and Meng Chen in straight sets of 3-0. Sikka and Navita lost the match by 3-11, 4-11 and 1-11 points.

Earlier, the Nepali team has also been defeated in men’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles.
