Kathmandu, Oct 7: The Tharu and Muslim Commission have submitted their annual report for the fiscal year 2080/81 before President Ram Chandra Paudel.
Chairman of the Tharu Commission Bishnu Prasad Chaudhary submitted the report to the President at a ceremony held at the Office of the President at Sheetal Niwas today. The report incorporates the works done in that fiscal year.
On that occasion, President Paudel said that culture is an important means of maintaining the identity of individuals and communities.
“The Tharu community has been living in the Terai region of Nepal for ages and this community has its own language, culture, costumes, tradition, civilization and culture,” he said.
Likewise, the Muslim Commission today presented its annual report for the fiscal year 2080-81 BS (2023-24) to President Ramchandra Paudel.
Commission Chair Samim Miya submitted the report to the head of the state amidst a ceremony in the Office of the President, Shital Niwas.
On the occasion, the President said the role and responsibilities of the Commission are significant as it was established to implement the State’s policy to conserve and promote identities, languages, scripts, culture, literature, art, and heritages of various castes and communities based on the principles of equality and co-existence.
He also expressed his hope that the government will pay heed to address the issues highlighted by the Commission in the report.
