KAWASOTI (NAWALPARASI): Three persons were killed and 24 others injured when a bus and a truck collided head-on with each other at Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat Susta) on the East-West Highway in Nawalpur district on Friday.
The accident occurred at Gaindakot-10, near the Memorial Bridge. A bus (Su Pra 02-001) from Kakadbhitta heading towards Mahendranagar and a truck (Na 6 Kha 7126) had collided with each other this morning.
According to Dilip Kumar Giri, Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Nawalparasi, three persons died on the spot when the bus fell 10 meters from the road. The identity of the deceased has not been revealed yet. According to Giri, the dead included two women and a man.
It is said that there were 26 passengers including the driver in the bus. The condition of three of them is critical.
Similarly, truck driver has also been injured. The injured are undergoing treatment at the New Medical College Bharatpur, Chitwan, said DSP Giri.
