ITAHARI: Three people died and 10 others were injured in a road accident that took place at Duhabi municipality-10, Sunsari on Tuesday.
The accident took place when a micro-bus and a motorcycle collided, killing the motorcycle rider and micro-bus driver assistant.
The deceased have been identified as the rider of the motorcycle Birkha Mandal,44, of Inaruwa-3 and 22-year-old Shanker Yadav of Rajbiraj, Saptari, who worked as helper to the driver of the micro-bus. A woman who died in the incident is yet to be identified, said Deputy Superintendent of Police of Sunsari Narendra Kumar Karki.
The injured are undergoing treatment at various medical centres in the locality. The accident took place when the micro-bus (province 1-01-001J 3868) heading toward Inaruwa from Duhabi collided with the motorcycle (Ko. 34. Pa. 4694) coming from the opposite direction. The micro-bus driver escaped following the incident, police said.
