Kathmandu, July 5: Three litterateurs were honoured with this year’s Diamond Shamsher Rana Literary Prize and Award.
At a programme organized here today by Diamond Shamsher Rana Literary Foundation, Nepal on 109th birth anniversary of late Rana, Dr Tikaram Pokhrel, Dr Madhav Biyogi and Dr Bishnu Neupane were honoured with the prizes.
The prize also including Rs 25,000 in cash and letter of appreciation, the Academy stated.
Dr Pokhrel earned his PhD completing a research on Rana, Dr Biyogi wrote an epic Diamondshree while Dr Neupane carried out a research on Rana.
During the prize distribution ceremony, former Vice Chancellor of Nepal Sanskrit University Prof Dr Kul Prasad Koirala said that the Rana’s family made crucial contributions to establish democracy and in the restoration of democracy as well as by writing historical fiction. #nepal #rss
