Janakpurdham, July 18: Dhanusha police have arrested three members of a family on the charge of defrauding the bank of Rs 40 million.
Gopal Sah, 53, a resident of Kapileshwor, Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City-16, Dhanusha, his wife Rekha Sah, 48, and son Hareram Sah, 32, who are absconding in cases related to fradaulent transactions (loan sharking) and fraud, have been arrested, shared Rupak Khadka, Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Dhanusha.
According to Superintendent of Police Khadka, Gopal was arrested from a hotel in Janakpurdham, Rekha from the border checkpoint at Jatahi in Nagarain Municipality, Dhanusha, and son Hareram from Kathmandu.
Govinda Kumar Sah, a resident of Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City-2, had taken a loan of Rs 9.9 million from Gopal Sah by keeping land as mortgage.
However, after Govinda Sah registered the land as mortgage, the three people, including Sah, took a loan of Rs 40 million from the bank without informing the landowner.
Superintendent of Police Khadka said that 50 land ownership documents, 18 citizenship certificates, a laptop and various stamps and maps were recovered from Gopal Sah’s house in Janakpurdham.
The police said that an investigation is underway against the three arrested people. #nepal #rss
