Top End T20 Series: Nepal wins by 33 against MRA



Kathmandu, Aug 20: Nepal registered a 33-run victory over Melbourne Renegades Academy in the Top End T20 Series at Palmerston, Australia, on Wednesday, marking their second win of the tournament.

Batting first, Nepal posted 139 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Kushal Malla led the scoring with 29 runs, followed by Dipendra Singh Airee with 27, Lokesh Bam 24, Bhim Sharki 17, Rupesh Singh 16, and Aarif Sheikh 12.

The rest of the batsmen failed to reach double figures. Melbourne Renegades Academy bowlers Fergus O’Neill, Callum Stow, Lachlan Bangs, and Michael Archer claimed two wickets each.

Chasing 140, the Academy were bowled out for 106 runs in their 20 overs. Nepali bowler Sompal Kami was the star, taking five wickets, while Kushal Bhurtel took two, and Shahab Alam and Rupesh Singh picked one each.

Arjun Nair top-scored for the Academy with 26 runs, followed by Jai Lemire 18, Harry Dixon 16, Oliver Peake 14, and Harry Hoekstra 11. Other batsmen failed to make double digits.
