Kathmandu, Feb 29: The Netherlands won today’s match held under the ongoing Tri-nation T-20 series against Namibia by 59 runs.
In the outstanding battings from Michael Levitt and Sybrand Engelbrecht, Netherlands posted a target of 248 runs against Namibia and in reply, Namibia was restricted to 188 in 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets.
In Namibia’s victory, Jan Frylinck and Zane Green contributed equal 42 runs while JP Kotze scored 26 followed by 19 each from JJ Smit and Ruben Trumpelmann.
Towards the bowling, Timm van der Gugten from the Netherlands, took two wickets while Sybrand Engelbrecht, Roelof van der Merwe, Vivian Kingma and Aryan Dutt took one wicket each.
Prior to this, Netherlands chose to bat first by winning the toss at Kirtipur-based TU Cricket Ground. It played the first inning by scoring 247 runs in 20 overs at the loss of five wickets.
Michael Levitt of Netherlands was the top scorer by hitting century: 135 including 11 boundaries and 10 sixes in 62 overs. Similarly, Engelbrecht added 75 runs with seven boundaries and five sixes in 40 balls. Teja Nidamanuru scored 18.
Levitt and Engelbrecht partnered with 193 runs for the second wicket. Namibia’s Trumpelmann took two wickets while Frulinck and Ben Shikongo took one wicket each.
This is the second victory of Netherlands in the series. Prior to this, it defeated Nepal. Nepal will meet Namibia for the next round of match tomorrow. #Nepal
