Two dead, 41 injured in Thokarpa Bus Accident

CHAUTARA: Two passengers died and 41 others were injured when a Kathmandu-bound bus met with an accident at Thokarpa in the district on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Rajan Baram, around 45 years old, from Thulo Durlung in Lalitpur district and another estimated to be around 22 years old youth. The identity of the latter was yet to be ascertained, according the District Police Office (DPO), Sindhupalchowk.

Both succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Dhulikhel Hospital in Kavrepalanchowk.

The accident took place when the ill-fated bus with registration no Ba 3 Kha 8030 belonging to the Koshipari Transport suddenly lost control in the downhill at Sunkoshi-3 in Sindhupalchowk, police said.

Among the 41 injured in the incident, 18 were receiving treatment at Sadabahar Hospital in Sindhupalchowk, 22 at Dhulikhel Hospital and one at Madhyapur Thimi Hospital in Bhaktapur, according to DSP at DPO, Sindhupalchowk Dakshya Kumar Basnet.
